‘Hoppers’ Proves Pixar Still Has That Magic Touch

One of the taglines for this animated film: Nature Can’t Be Silenced. A young college student and animal lover uses technology that allows her to place her consciousness into a robotic animal where she is able to uncover secrets she had no idea existed within the animal world.
Hoppers is a funny and charming reminder that Pixar still knows how to tell an animated tale that is brimming with imagination, on levels every age range in a family can find entertaining. Daniel Chong brings his directing expertise last seen in We Bare Bears: The Movie in a fashion that highlights the endearing determination that makes all the characters more relatable than expected. Jesse Andrews’ screenplay based on the story by him and Chong is well balanced as it delivers on an adventure that makes you think without forcing its environmental message on you. The voice cast brings these characters to life in a myriad of ways making the humor shine through and their comedic timing compliments the animation. Mark Mothersbaugh’s score really adds to the fun as the music helps to maintain the feel of the movie from scene to scene in a cute way. Pixar has a solid entry here that may not go down as their best, but reminds fans of the studio’s commitment to quality productions made to be enjoyed in cinemas on the big screen and leave you satisfied when it is done. I rate this movie a rating of 4 out of 5.
