There was Dyllz, the kid recording verses in a friend’s house around the corner. Then there is DYLANXPEET, the man who decided to leave nothing on the table.
The name is simple: his own, with his middle initial. The shift behind it was not. “I’d spent so much time, effort and finances being an artist but still wasn’t giving it my all,” he says. “Forever Blu’z,” released in 2022, was where that changed.
“I want to be able to say I didn’t leave anything on the table.”
It began with J. Cole. “Grown Simba” reached a boy who had moved from Florida back to Nassau at eight, into a home loud with cousins and laughter, and showed him that words could hit like a story. Jay Bravo, the friend around the corner, gave him a mic and his first real belief.
Today his life runs on routine. Work, then the gym. On rest days, a movie, a game of pool, a verse. Friends call him disciplined, charismatic and calm. He can solve a Rubik’s cube in under a minute. The music carries the same patience.
Press play and you get honest, aware rap with a message and the bars to back it, over beats that keep your head moving. The record that feels most like him is “WWJD?”, a letter from his past self to his future self. Lately, the music does something quieter too. It clears his head.
Home has not made it easy. Listeners here reach for what they already know, and staying independent is expensive. Still, in 2025 he took the TOTO Collective stage in London, a daydream made real an ocean away.
He is not here to fit a mold. He is here to tell the truth and see who finds themselves in it.
“All I can do is tell my story and hope something resonates.”
