Aren’t y’all tired of eating the same thing for lunch over and over again? In my Flavor & Vibe section, I love to highlight new and creative menu items from some of your favorite spots so we could really could start eating outside the box.
Right now, sourdough bread bowls are the latest hit at Flying Fish Gastrobar in Freeport and trust me, this ain’t no regular lunch. What’s better than a bowl you could actually eat? Their first rollout was a creamy lobster chowder loaded with fresh veggies, tender potatoes, and thick, juicy chunks of Bahamian lobster, all swimming in a rich, velvety chowder base that warms you from the inside out. It’s the kinda comfort food that makes you wanna lick the spoon.
And just when you thought it couldn’t get better, they dropped the Chili Bowl. A house-made sourdough bread bowl brimming with hearty, slow-simmered chili, topped with a gooey blanket of melted cheese, a cool drizzle of lime crema, and a sprinkle of fresh scallions for that extra kick. Every bite is a lil dance between spicy, tangy, and creamy goodness.
Fun fact: their sourdough starter, affectionately named “Audrey”, is over 20 years old and still going strong.
I, for one, can’t wait to see what other creative and downright mouthwatering sourdough bowls they whip up next.
