Some people chase a crown. Christian Cooper built a mission to go under his. Before the title, he was the young man without guidance, headed down the wrong path, until his life turned. The newly crowned King of the Bahamas National High School Pageant took that turnaround and made it bigger than himself, founding Bro to Bro: Male Youth Empowerment to be the support he once needed. Faith first, humble always. Wybe is watching, and you should be too.
Who is Christian in three words?
Overachiever. Ambitious. Persistent.
What does wearing the crown mean to you?
For me, wearing this crown goes far beyond myself. It represents the trust that has been placed in me, and it inspires me to lead with integrity, humility, and purpose. True leadership is not measured by recognition, but by the positive impact you have on others.
What is your platform, and why does it matter to you?
Bro to Bro: Male Youth Empowerment. It is an initiative to strengthen young men physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. There was a time I was that young man who lacked guidance and was heading down the wrong path. My life turned around, but not everyone has that support. Through Bro to Bro, I want to be the support I once needed, and empower young men to become the best versions of themselves.
How did you prepare for the national stage?
I kept my focus on God. Every time I felt overwhelmed, I prayed. Every time I stepped on stage, I prayed. Even after I won, I prayed. My coach, teachers, and especially my mother carried me through with love and unwavering support.
Who in The Bahamas inspires you?
My coach, Darrol Stubbs. He takes time out of his busy life to mentor and uplift young people, not because he has to, but because he genuinely cares. He showed me that real leadership is about using your time, knowledge, and experience to help others grow.
Your advice for the next young king chasing the crown?
Focus on becoming the best version of yourself, not just winning a title. There will be doubt and pressure. Do not let them define you, let them shape you. Keep God at the center, stay humble, and remember the crown is about how you use your platform to serve and inspire. Lead with purpose, and you will always be a king, whether you wear the crown or not.
