Quinten Stuart Owning His Lane

In the ever-evolving Bahamian fashion scene, one name beginning to stand out is Quentin Stuart a young model whose journey began in the most unexpected way. When Quentin first landed in Freeport, modeling wasn’t on his radar. He had just picked up a job bussing tables at Agave when Darrol, a figure in the local modeling scene, stopped him mid-shift and asked if he’d ever considered modeling. “I looked at him like ‘yeah, sure,’” Stuart laughs. “That was 2022. I didn’t know what I was doing at all, but that moment opened the door.”

For someone who describes himself as “pretty strange” and “off the wall” outside of modeling, Stuart’s entry into fashion feels almost poetic, but meant to be. At first, his interest was mild, but fashion soon pulled him in deeper. “Around a year ago, I realized there’s so much more to it,” he says. “That’s what really sparked it for me.”

“Life was life-ing. I lost interest in a lot of things. Then one day, maybe it was the haircut I got but I just felt ready again.”

Still, life hasn’t made it easy. Between work, family, and the everyday realities of adulthood, Stuart found himself stretched thin. The mental toll was heavy, but his recent reset came right as new opportunities surfaced, shows, studio sessions, and projects that feel aligned with his vision. “The stars kind of just aligned,” he says.

On the runway, Stuart has traded nerves for confidence. His first showcase was shaky, but it taught him the core of modeling: calm, self-expression, and presence. Today, his Afro is his signature, his crown and calling card. As for poses? “I can’t explain it,” he shrugs. “It’s just instinct.”

“The whole point is to express yourself at your calmest. That’s when you shine.”

While comparisons to international star Alton Mason follow him everywhere, Stuart isn’t leaning on lookalike narratives. “It would be cool to work with him one day, sure. But I don’t need it to happen. I just do what I like.”

That’s the essence of Quentin Stuart, unconventional, unapologetic, and just beginning to step fully into his own.
