For Bahamian singer songwriter Ava Symone, music was never a hobby. It was a calling. Meet the voice behind Only One and the story that shaped her sound.

For Bahamian singer-songwriter Ava Symone, music was never just a hobby, it was a calling that took shape long before most teenagers find their voice. At just 13 years old, late-night demo sessions in Eight Mile Rock quickly evolved into weekend flights to Miami, where she began writing and recording under the mentorship of hitmaker Flo Rida. The experience didn’t just sharpen her artistry it reshaped her understanding of music as a tool for influence, opportunity, and legacy.

Today, Ava describes her sound as distinctly global, woven together by the rhythms and cultures that have shaped her journey. Island textures sit comfortably alongside pop sensibilities and R&B emotion, while her time studying music in Alabama expanded her sonic palette to include rock-inspired guitar work and deeper melodic storytelling. The result is a style that feels both rooted and far-reaching,  a reflection of a young artist determined to translate personal experiences into universal connection.

Her latest single, Only One, arrives as both a confessional and a dreamscape. Inspired by the tension between longing and uncertainty, the track explores the emotional limbo many experience while searching for real love. Rather than forcing narratives, Ava allowed distance from relationships to sharpen her songwriting voice, crafting a record that feels intimate yet widely relatable.

A self-taught producer and formally trained musician, Ava often begins her creative process with lyrical intention before shaping the soundscape around it. Influenced by legacy artists like Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston, she aspires to create music that not only entertains but speaks to social realities and emotional truths.

As a young Bahamian artist emerging at a pivotal cultural moment, Ava Symone represents a generation redefining our creative footprint. With Only One, she invites listeners into her evolving story,  one rooted in resilience, ambition, and the courage to be heard.
